It all started in December 1995 when the Ballan family
decided to open a small shop specializing in craftsmanship articles,
especially abayas, in Zouk.
The
small shop where the business concern started was no longer suitable for the
growing S.A.R.L Company; so, it moved to its new, actual address in Val de
Zouk - Kaslik. Moreover, in an effort to cater for the needs of its
clientele and geographically expand, the owners opened a new shop in the
booming commercial area of Zalka. The year 2001 also witnessed another birth,
that of a new branch in Rabieh. Not to forget that Mouftah el Chark also boasts
a shop in Nahr el Founoun.
Initially, the shop traded in products such as Oriental abayas
and handicrafts. However, due to the growing demand of the market, it
flourished and started also selling Oriental-style ornamental items and
furniture. As a
commercial business concern, Mouftah El Chark participated in a myriad of fairs
and exhibitions, both in Lebanon and in the Gulf region, such as
in the Dubai World Trade Center Exhibitions.
Mouftah El Chark aims at selling its products to a Lebanese
clientele, first and foremost, and at catering as well for an international
clientele. Therefore, it delivers any of its items or custom-design abayas to
all areas of the world. Moreover, it actually exports to resellers in Honduras,
Bordeaux (France), Dubai (UAE), Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Finally, Mouftah El Chark creates its own original,
state-of-the-art designs of some abayas and tablecloths; however, it also
mostly sells Lebanese traditional souvenirs and craftsmanship and imports
Oriental items from both Turkey and India. |
